Meeting is rescheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2018

Dr. Greg Fried, Executive Chief Surgeon, NYPD (Retired), author of  " Life on the Thin Blue Line."

Dr. Gregory Fried attended Cornell University and NYU Medical School.  He began his career at Bellevue Hospital as a general surgeon and was appointed as a New York Police Surgeon in 1980.  He was promoted to Deputy Chief Surgeon in 1986 and was promoted to Executive Chief Surgeon in 1996.  Dr. Fried still practiced general surgery while with the NYPD.

Dr. Fried was a first responder on 9/11 and was almost killed when the South Tower collapsed.  He retired in August 2003 and received the NYPD Medal of Valor (the only surgeon to receive this Award) that same year.

In Dr. Fried's interesting and compelling book, Life on the Thin Blue Line, he looks back at a career that  began in the 1970's and continued beyond the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The first 20 members to register for the March meeting will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
